Excluding your own visits guide
Last updated September 28, 2026
If you (or your team) visit your own site regularly to check on things, those visits show up in your stats just like anyone else's. Excluding your own IP address stops that.
Setting it up
In SimpleStat, go to Settings > Privacy and add your IP address, one per line if you have more than one (for example, an office connection and a home connection). No code changes needed, the change takes effect immediately for new visits.
Finding your IP address
Search "what is my ip" in Google, or visit a site like whatismyipaddress.com, and use the address shown there. If your internet provider assigns you a new IP address from time to time (common on home broadband and mobile connections), you may need to update this occasionally.
What this actually does
When a visit comes in from an excluded IP address, SimpleStat doesn't record it at all, no page view, no scroll/click event, nothing written to your dashboard for that visit. It's not a display filter you can toggle on and off, the visit is simply never stored in the first place.
What this doesn't do
SimpleStat doesn't store IP addresses for any visitor, yours or anyone else's (see our privacy policy). That means excluding an IP address only affects visits going forward, from the moment you save it. It can't retroactively remove visits you already made before setting this up, there's no IP address on file to match against.
It also only excludes the addresses you list. If you browse your own site from a different network (a coffee shop, your phone's mobile data), that visit won't be excluded unless you add that address too.
